Marcus Evans of LANDMARC specialises in Environmental and Conservation Land and Water Management. Marcus is also an avid photographer so takes many of the photos for the website himself!
Marcus came to me with a pre-designed website but required the facility to update it regularly.
He wanted to split its combined image library page into their relevant sections. Adding an updatable news and case studies section aswell as a content editor system for each page on the website.
The site imaging system automatically takes an image uploaded, and dynamically resizes it into the three sizes required for optimal display on the website. The thumbnail, the large pop out, and one for the flash image scroller. This decreases loading and lag time for the user which makes their viewing experience a much nicer one!
Along with this, a thickbox system is used to display the images allowing for an ultimate viewing experience of Marcus' top quality photos!

The Technical Bit
Using Active Server Pages (ASP) combined with AJAX, Javascript and Jquery techniques - your resulting web project will be attractive yet functional.
ASP lets you add amazing functionality - from uploading custom photos, to giving you an full e-commerce products system.
Javascript and Jquery Plugins can give you an easy to use and nice user experience - while keeping the functionality that ASP provides.
Using all of the above is not so much a skill, but more of an art. Taking the best bits from each system, using their strengths and leaving behind their weaknesses.
Already Have A Website?
If you've already got a website that you want "sprucing up" or need maintaining - this can be a slightly different ball game. Most of my customers in this situation have seen the benefits of using their current website as a stepping stone to their new feature filled website.
