Steve Meleka of Meleka & co required a unique 100% AJAX in-house ordering system for their client Prestopets.
The system utilises a great amount of javascript yet is slimline enough to work effectivly on Internet Explorer 6.
The system allows for mutiple levels of user logins, ordering caps per store and much more.The challenge was to build the system in such a way as to give it an "application" style feel. Losing any delay or lag that a standard web 2.0 development would have. The ease of use for this interface is very much attributed to its sliding panel system - loading and showing only the data that has been requested. This not only makes it extremely easy for first time use, but also decreases load time for each page, making it possible to be used even on very slow connection speeds.
As with many ordering systems, an automated email to suppliers, customers and supplier warehouses was required. This was achieved with along with the dynamic creation of an order list via pdf and csv file ready for import into a finance package of choice.
